Mark R. Sandberg is the principal of Sandberg Turbomachinery Consulting, LLC. Before forming this consulting practice in 2016, he was a Consulting Machinery Engineer with Chevron Energy Technology Company in Houston, Texas for more than fifteen years. Prior to joining Chevron, he was employed by ARCO, Petro-Marine Engineering, and The Dow Chemical Company. During his sixteen years at ARCO, he was involved with a number of gas turbine driven compressors, both internationally and on the North Slope of Alaska. Throughout the majority of his career, he has been involved in providing technical assistance and services associated with the selection, design, specification, procurement, and testing of new rotating equipment along with failure analysis and troubleshooting issues with existing equipment, primarily in upstream oil and gas production and LNG processing operations. Mark has more than 40 years of varied experience in the process industries and has been involved with the design, manufacture, testing, and installation of several small to large gas turbine driven centrifugal compressor trains worldwide. Mr. Sandberg has B.S.M.E. and M.S. (Mechanical Engineering) degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, an Emeritus Member of the Texas A&M Turbomachinery Advisory Committee, a member of AIAA and a Life Fellow Member of ASME.
